Today, it was an honour for me to officially start the Balsall Common Fun Run, an event that brings people together not only for fitness and fun, but also for awareness, remembrance, and support of families when they need it most. Congratulations to Ryan, Amy, and the entire Lily Mae Foundation team for putting on such an amazing event—it was inspiring to see the energy, dedication, and community spirit shine through every part of the day.
About the Lily Mae Foundation
The Lily Mae Foundation was established in 2010 by Ryan and Amy Jackson, following the heartbreaking loss of their daughter Lily Mae. From that deeply personal tragedy, they built a foundation that now provides hope, understanding, and practical support for families facing stillbirth, neonatal death, miscarriage, or medical termination.
Their work includes:
- One-to-one bereavement support, offering compassion and guidance to parents during their darkest times.
- Memory Boxes, giving families precious ways to remember and honour their child.
- Monthly support groups for parents and siblings, creating a safe space to share, listen, and heal.
- Pregnancy After Loss support to help families navigate new journeys with understanding.
- Training for health professionals, ensuring care is delivered with sensitivity and compassion.
This combination of emotional, practical, and community support makes The Lily Mae Foundation a lifeline for so many.
